Situated
under
the
eastern
ridge
of
the
Black
Mountains,
close
to
the
border
with
Wales,
the
Carpenters
Arms
has
been
in
the
same
family
for
generations.
The
three
hundred
year
old
pub
is
now
run
by
Vera
Watkins,
who
was
born
there
and
has been the landlady since taking over from her mother forty years ago.
A
warm
welcome
is
extended
to
customers
from
Vera,
her
family
and
staff.
The
pub
remains
as
it
was
over
a
century
ago,
with
a
cosy
bar

is
well
stocked

a
selection

The

also
attracts
many
people
from
the
area,
who
return
time

the
home
cooking
and
to
enjoy a fireside chat with Vera.
